CIIPA's Community Relations Committee is once again hosting its annual Hurricane Supplies for the Elderly community service event, organised in partnership with Meals On Wheels.

This event provides seniors across the community with necessary supplies for the 2024 hurricane season, which starts 1 June. We are seeking volunteers to help pack and deliver the kits on Saturday, 15 June at KPMG.

Based on feedback received last year from members, this year we will have an additional element — collecting of goods to enable us to put together even more kits for those persons most vulnerable in our community.

      Collection of goods
If you or your organisation are interested in collecting items for hurricane kits, please register as such to indicate this to the Community Relations Committee and obtain a listing of items needed for the kits. The Community Relations Committee will also reach out to arrange collection the week of 3 June. Additionally, there will be a box located at the CIIPA offices if you would prefer to donate that way, so please feel free to drop off any items there if you are donating individually (not through your organisation).

Kit packing and delivery of kits:
Subsequent to the collection of goods, we invite volunteers to assist with packing the hurricane supply kits and/or delivering these hurricane kits to the seniors. The event is being held over two sessions on Saturday, 15th June at KPMG, in Cricket Square. Volunteers can sign up for one or both of the following:

      Kit packaging
10 a.m. - Noon: Volunteers assist with packing kits with groceries or other goods in plastic bins.

      Delivery
12-2 p.m.: Volunteers pick up packaged hurricane kits from KPMG and deliver them to senior citizens throughout the island (please indicate upon registering whether you'd be willing to deliver to the Eastern Districts).
