INVESTIGATIONOBJECTIVEThe Investigation Committee shall at the direction of CIIPA Council undertake investigations into any complaint made against a CIIPA member and shall make recommendations to Council as to whether the matter should be dismissed or referred to the Disciplinary Tribunal and to the relevant Overseas Professional Accounting Institute for action. It is important to maintain a fair, effective and consistent investigation process and thereby preserve confidence in the accountancy profession. STRUCTUREThe Investigation Committee will be chaired by a Council member and will comprise of no more than seven other members nominated by Council, each of whom is required to have at least five years membership in CIIPA. PROCESSComplaints will in the first instance be submitted in writing to CIIPA Council. If Council determines that a complaint is not frivolous or vexatious it shall refer the matter to the Investigation Committee to review. The Committee will then convene.
