This course is open only for CIIPA and ICAEW members. 

Drawing on ICAEW’s review experience, ICAEW will present a one-hour session covering ISQM1 evaluation and remediation. The session will incorporate a series of scenarios to help attendees understand the evaluation and remediation process.   

This course will run from 5 - 6 p.m. at George Town Yacht Club and attendees are invited to stay for a networking social until 7 p.m. 

Course Objectives: Recall the ISQM1 evaluation and remediation process.  

Audience:  Those individuals involved in their firm's ISQM1 evaluation and remediation process. 

Cost: Free for CIIPA members and ICAEW members. 

Note: ICAEW members who register for the session will have their names shared with ICAEW.

Presenters:

Will Strickland

Will is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and a specialist in audit quality monitoring. Will joined ICAEW in 2007 having previous experience as an auditor with a Big Four firm in the UK and Bermuda. He is responsible for a team of UK-based reviewers and manages the delivery of audit monitoring visits to UK audit firms of all sizes including Big Four and top 20. Will also oversees ICAEW’s audit monitoring contracts, partnering with overseas regulators and professional bodies. He has performed audit monitoring visits to firms in Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean and also supports local regulators by providing methodology, training and on-the-job coaching to overseas-based staff.

Liz Shaw

Liz Shaw is a Senior Manager in the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) of Professional Standards, where she has worked for the past 17 years. She is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with previous audit experience with a Big Four firm in the UK. Liz leads a team of reviewers who carry out audit monitoring visits to all sizes of UK audit firms, including Big Four. She is also involved in third party and overseas contracts. Going forward she will also have responsibility for monitoring compliance with the ICAEW CPD regulations.

Trevor Smith

Trevor joined ICAEW in 1991, having previously gained extensive experience within the UK auditing profession. He is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. As a QAD director, for 16 years Trevor had specific responsibility for audit monitoring across the UK and overseas including leading ICAEW’s monitoring for CIIPA. Trevor has contributed to many forums and working groups in areas related to regulatory standards, monitoring regimes and quality assurance schemes.
