CIIPA’s Tweneboah invited to

FATF Private Sector Collaborative Forum

George Town, Cayman Islands, 28 March 2025

Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) Director of Regulatory Affairs & Policy Alfred Tweneboah recently was invited to participate in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Private Sector Collaborative Forum, a significant milestone for both CIIPA and the Cayman Islands.

“Alfred’s participation at this global event underscores our jurisdiction’s commitment and role in global efforts to combat financial crime,” CIIPA Chief Executive Officer Sheree Ebanks said.

The forum brought together key international stakeholders from the public and private sector to strengthen dialogue, share best practices and enhance global anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing frameworks. It was held 25-27 March in Mumbai, India and drew more than 200 people.

Tweneboah’s invitation is the result of a new iniative from FATF President Elisa de Anda Madrazo, which welcomes two guest jurisdictions — Cayman Islands and Senegal — to more actively provide input in the FATF and promote further engagement within the Caribbean.

“This invitation gives us a seat at the table,” Ebanks said. “It allows the FATF to broaden the diversity of perspectives and backgrounds at the event, which Alfred was able to contribute during his participation in the panel discussion titled, ‘Supervision & Risk-based Approach (RBA).’ He was able to contribute valuable insights into regulatory best practices and emphasising Cayman's proactive approach to international compliance standards.”
